This is a one day professional development event for museum and gallery professionals and for those who are interested in working in this field.
Through engaging with a range of contributors and case studies, the event will provide a framework for the set-up and development of an Access programme focussed on creating events for people who are Deaf or Visually Impaired. The day will include presentations on Tate’s award winning access programme, case studies of initiatives at Tate and other galleries, presentations on fundraising, marketing, audience development and working with artists, as well as a touch tour and visual description demonstration. The day will conclude with a BSL tour of the Kurt Schwitters exhibition.
