Illustrating Futures

Drop into Tate Exchange for a zine and comic workshop followed by a talk from acclaimed comics creator, Darryl Cunningham

Illustrating Futures is a collaboration between University of Liverpool and Comics Youth. Comics Youth are a non-profit Social Enterprise that delivers comic and zine reading and creation workshops for disadvantaged children and young people aged 8 - 25 within Merseyside and Knowsley to help young people improve their literacy and overall wellbeing, and provide them with the tools to express themselves.

The organisers of this event are Jhelisa Taylor-Brown, co-founder of Comics Youth, David Hering, a Lecturer in Contemporary Literature at the University of Liverpool, and Glyn Morgan, post-doctoral research assistant for the Illustrating Futures project.

10.00 – 12.00: Drop-in and create your own zine or comic

12.00 – 12.30: Talk from mental health specialist on comics and mental health

12.30 – 14.00: Drop-in and create your own zine or comic

14.00 – 15.00: Talk from comics creator, Darryl Cunningham (Booking Required)
