Join us for a 4-week printmaking course inspired by the expressive landscapes of JMW Turner

Taking inspiration from the work in JMW Turner with Lamin Fofana: Dark Waters, printmaker Colette Whittington will help you to develop your own bespoke print. You'll learn and experiment with monoprinting and will explore drawing and mark-making in mixed media focusing on the subject of the landscape. You'll draw a design, paint or stencil onto a perspex plate and transfer it to paper by hand and press methods.

This course is designed to be a relaxed and fun introduction to painterly monoprint, inspired by the exciting works exhibited. No previous print experience is necessary. All skill levels are welcome.

Colette Whittington is a Liverpool based artist-educator specialising in printmaking. She leads specialist print workshops in galleries and museums all over the UK, alongside juggling her artistic practice which has a social arts focus. She is also the author of Project Print; a new book collaboration for Tate exploring print projects to inspire artists of all ages and abilities to get printing.
